If you’ve decided to explore the advantages of software outsourcing in Poland, the next step is hiring good software developers. You already know that it is worth outsourcing IT services to Poland, but finding qualified candidates and determining if they’re the right fit for your organization can be challenging. To help you to navigate these challenges, we’ve compiled a five-step guide to recruiting top IT talent.
IT companies in Poland typically use a variety of tools and resources to find the most relevant candidates. In particular, you may want to consider:
- posting job advertisements on IT recruitment websites such as:
- Just Join IT,
- No Fluff Jobs,
- Bulldogjob.pl,
- IT.Pracuj.pl,
- Inhire.io,
- JobsForGeek.com,
- IT-Leaders.pl,
- 4programmers.net.
- or using the services of an IT recruitment agency.
But if your job advertisements don’t pull in the right candidates or you simply want to look for software developers or other IT professionals yourself, you will need to go the extra mile. In other words, if the right candidates refuse to come to you (this usually holds true for the most qualified ones), you’ll have to go to them.
So if you’re wondering how to find good software developers in Poland, here are five steps to making your recruitment process more effective.

1. To find software developers, go to the places where they look for answers to their questions
In other words, you should browse the platforms and message boards where developers share their knowledge or look for attractive jobs. The most popular websites include:
- Stack Overflow (an international platform used by developers to share their knowledge and by business clients to post jobs and other advertisements);
- 4programmers (a Polish knowledge-sharing platform that also features microblogs, job advertisements, and resources for programmers);
- Polish groups for IT professionals on Facebook: Programiści Polska (Developers Poland)
- Women in Technology Poland
- Gamedev.js – a group for developers of HTML 5 games
- Groups for front-end developers: JS News, JS News: after hours, JS News: Jobs, React Polska (React Poland), Angular Polska (Angular Poland), Vue.js Polska (Vue.js Poland), Vue.js Jobs Poland, HTML/CSS/Javascript – Front-end PL
- Programista Na Swoim (a group for developers who work or want to work under B2B contracts)
- Programista 5K (job offers for developers who want to earn a net salary of at least 5,000 zlotys)
- Programista 10K (job offers for developers who want to earn a net salary of at least 10,000 zlotys)
- Praca dla programistów i programistek powyżej 20000 zł, 30000 zł i 40000 zł (job offers for programmers > 20,000, 30,000, 40,000 zlotys);
Wykop.pl and its #programowanie (a Polish news platform with a message board frequently visited by Polish developers).
How can you make use of these websites for recruitment purposes? You can check user names and e-mail addresses and use them to find specific candidates on LinkedIn or to contact them directly. Of course, using Boolean and X-Ray searches will also prove useful here.

2. But does this mean that you’ve found good software developers? Here’s where you can check this
Other places where you can find ideal candidates include the websites where developers post their code. You can use such code repositories to check the code they’ve written and the projects they’ve worked on.
The most popular platform used by IT programmers is:
In addition, you may want to make use of various challenge-based platforms for coders:
- CodinGame (a challenge-based platform for game developers and recruiters);
- CoderByte (a platform with a library of 200+ coding challenges with varying levels of difficulty where you can view the solutions submitted by users);
- SPOJ (a platform with various coding challenges – for each challenge, there is a list of submissions with user names; the platform also features a hall of fame and a message board).
If you want to find out more about the participation of Polish coders in coding competitions, you can read the article on Humeo’s blog:

3. Test the candidates yourself
You can use a dedicated website to post coding tasks for candidates to complete. Here are three examples of such platforms (the first two are very popular in Poland):
- Codility (a platform created by Polish developers and used by over 1,500 companies from 63 countries in the world and over 10 million IT specialists);
- HackerRank (used by over 2,000 companies and over 11 million developers worldwide, which accounts for over 30% of this professional group. Interestingly, in addition to paid solutions for business clients, the platform allows you to find users using public rankings such as theLeaderboard by sorting the lists by competition, technology, and country);
- Qualified.io (a highly-automated platform for creating tasks for technical recruitment).

4. Explore alternatives to LinkedIn: IT-leaders.pl and inhire.io
We recommend IT-leaders.pl because of the unique nature of this platform. Compared to classic job search websites, it is based on reverse recruitment, which is a model allowing you to reach out directly to candidates interested in specific positions. How does it work?
- 1. Developers set up accounts and fill in a form that includes their preferred rates and the positions that they are interested in.
- 2. Companies contact the candidates that meet their criteria.
- 3. The candidates accept or decline the invitations sent by the companies. Accepting an invitation means that the company will receive the candidate’s contact details.
- 4. The developer and the prospective employer start talks.
Inhire.io is a very similar platform. The only difference is that it uses algorithms to match job offers to IT professionals. The rest of the recruitment process looks the same as on IT-leaders.pl.

5. Create an employee referral program
If you want to find candidates that will be a good fit for your company, you can set up an employee referral program.
As the saying goes, it’s a small world, so perhaps one of your employees knows a good software developer. Poland has plenty of highly-qualified IT specialists, and they rank high in global rankings (according to HackerRank, they currently rank third in the world, right after China and Russia). In other words, it is very likely that someone you know has worked with or met a good Polish developer and can recommend good candidates to you.
That’s all for now when it comes to the tips that I’ve wanted to share with you in this article. Most importantly, the solutions recommended here are very useful, and we’ve tested most of them in practice. Of course, we don’t use all of them on a daily basis, but they work very well in more complicated recruitment tasks and make the whole process a lot more effective. We hope you’ll find them useful too with finding good software developers.
Do you think it’s too much of a hassle to sift through all those resources to find good developers?
